Multi-award winning play at the bray one act drama festival
A huge congratulations to The Senior Drama group who picked up three out of the three awards in the Youth Section in the Bray One Act Drama Festival. They performed ‘Hospital Food’ by Eugene O’Hare which got a huge reaction from the audience. A special congrats to Cameron Brady in 5th year and Mia McCarthy in TY who won “Best Actor and Actress” and to the whole cast for winning “Best Production" of the night. Many thanks to everyone who came and supported on the night and of course Ms. Carney, the director who made everything run smoothly and created a brilliant cast. Congratulations to Kilmac Youth Drama group and East Glendalough School for performing their plays so well.

Kairos TV Production Days... |
Last Tuesdays, Thursday and Friday, TY students were lucky enough to go to the Kairos TV production studio in Maynooth. We were each given a specific role to fulfil to make sure the production became a reality. Such roles included: Presenters, Director, Stage Manager, Producer and many more. After a day of writing, filming and editing, students had a short film to show for their work, not too different to any show on TV!
All Kairos productions can be seen in the gallery section.

TY Zoo Outing... |
08/10/15
This Thursday, all of Transition Year went on the much awaited trip to the Zoo. Throughout the morning we were allowed to explore the Zoo ourselves and discover the various animals. It was amazing to be so close to the different animals and how the Zoo cares for them. Before lunch we came together for a talk on conservation from one of the keepers. We were very interested in how the Zoo worked and we learnt many interesting facts about The Zoo.

TY Camping... |
14/09/15
On Wednesday the 9th of September, all of the fourth year students received their Junior Cert results, but shortly after congratulating each other we set off for our camping trip. We almost couldn’t fit all our bags in the two buses we packed so much!
We arrived at Lough Dan, set up our tents and then ate lunch. We took in our surroundings while hanging by the tyre swing and posing for pictures. In the afternoon, the group set out on a 2 hour walk, through bushy paths and down steep hills. When we came back, we cooked our first dinners of the trip. Later in the night we gathered around a bonfire to roast marshmallows and chat. We sang with the guitar to ‘Wonderwall’ and ‘High Hopes’, no matter how out of tune we were. We settled down to bed eventually.

Morning came, and we woke up bright and early to get ready for our twenty two kilometre walk for our Gaisce. About three hours into the walk, we stopped for lunch by the lake. The journey back following this break was where the falls, tumbles and muddy slips occurred for many in the fields and bogs. We returned to our site, tired but relieved!
Some of the guys and girls went for a swim in the lake, and it was freezing cold but still refreshing after the five hour walk. It was our last night, and there was a chilled vibe in the air when we’d had our showers and dinner. The bonfire was lit again, music was played and people danced. We sat around the fire again and talked. The teachers kindly made us all burgers before we headed for the sleeping bags.
The next morning we packed up, cleaned and headed home. Thanks to all the teachers that camped with us, the trip was an experience that we won't forget.
